      Talkpush Launches New Nomad Travel Program

      Nomad Program

      Being a distributed team has many benefits, like cultural diversity and local expertise, but it can leave some Talkpushers feeling like outsiders. We decided to bring them in by inviting them to come live at a Talkpush location for two months.


      We’ve been a distributed company since the very beginning, since our inception in 2014 we have lived and breathed our tagline: the world truly is our talent pool! Our commitment to finding the best talent, regardless of where they live, has become a defining point of who we are. The costs are many, but the benefits (for us) outweigh them. We’ve developed a personality, a commitment to one another — all fruit of the need to record interactions, accommodate opposite timezones, and own our projects as individuals and remote teams.

      ourstory-1We’ll never shy away from our main hiring principle; we let people do great things from wherever they want to do them. Of course, oftentimes that means right in one of the Talkpush offices in Manila, San Jose, Hong Kong, or CDMX. We have the flexibility of being lonely wolves, far from the coffee machine, working in our PJs. Or, we can go into one of our five offices worldwide, and follow a tight schedule — Talkpushers can choose the model that works best for them or mix them up.


      Although this hybrid model is not for everyone, it has tons of advantages. As Head of People I have one single, yet significant inconvenient: keeping the harmony in a team, which is spread out over multiple time zones, is easier said than done. A big part of my job is to make sure everyone feels valued, like they’re part of a Talkpush whole, and not alone churning out tasks out into a mysterious void. To that end, we have WhatsApp channels, monthly town halls, weekly video one-on-ones, costume contests, and a myriad of other little things to encourage Talkpushers to bridge the digital divide and form solid relationships with their co-workers.

      iv3 (1)That being said, everyone gets busy and immersed with their own daily tasks — add the 14-hour difference between our APAC and LATAM teams, and we sometimes miss the harmony.


      Work trips represent a surefire way to get Talkpushers excited and tear down those barriers. They offer:

      • Connecting with people: Although I could say we are super-connected, since we do have the tools and resources to support the Talkpush remote working culture, and we gather all together in a monthly call, the truth remains, nothing replaces human interaction.

      • See others’ environment: We share pictures on a daily basis, and most of us make an effort to understand the different ways of working, but nothing beats seeing it with your own eyes and experiencing it in real life.

      • Discover new cultures: At Talkpush, our two main regions are LATAM and APAC. Could we be anymore different? Being immersed in a new culture helps better understand our colleagues and how they see the world.

      crteamTalkpush has always offered its employees the possibility of traveling as soon as your job requires it; and it is often in your dedicated region, hence we decided to #levelup remote work.


      We want to take all the benefits we’ve seen from Talkpushers’ many work trips over the years into a new initiative: The Nomad Program.


      By participating in the Nomad Program, which will be held twice a year, a lucky someone will have the opportunity to relocate for 2 months, all-inclusive.


      Everyone has the same chance of winning the relocation lottery, based on a blind draw from a list of willing volunteers. All Talkpushers have to do is register if they’re interested, and wait for the magic to happen.

      We’re not joking, there’s no small print accompanying this announcement. All expenses will be covered, the winner will be able to relocate to the office of his/her choice, while keeping his/her responsibilities because: work is something you do, not a place you go to.


      In line with our remote and distributed culture, this Nomad Program is designed to #levelup our team collaboration.
