On May 25, we had the first of our Global Recruitment Hack series event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was co-hosted by the global employer branding Universum, in Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

We we thrilled to welcome over 40 talent acquisition executives and thought leaders coming from various industries.

Ryan Pua — Account Manager APAC for Universum talked about what are the preferences of the talent pool in Malaysia releasing brand new data on the preferences of the Malaysia talent pool, in terms of companies, culture, and industries, and opened a discussion on the changing salary expectations. The audience seemed pretty pleased to hear that salary expectations had finally re-adjusted a little this year! .

He explained how a simplified recruitment process, with shorter applications forms and a more candidate-centric design could change the balance of supply and demand in favor of the more empathetic recruiters.
